Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear

Gary Burton - Good Vibes

Steven Steinbrink - Arranged Waves

FSOL - Environments 2

Mogwai - Les Revenants

*music2*

I saw a pile of TD albums at a record shop in Teignmouth last October, that one included I think. I didn't buy any as I thought the (likely) crackles would spoil the quieter passages. They were around £4-6 each.

Was waiting to pay for the London Grammar LP when the TD caught my eye. My old boss is a big TD fan and he recommended this one. First listen tonight. Me likee.

I'm a big fan of TD. It was sad to hear of the demise of Edgar Froese.

It's fairly safe to assume that the proximity of the TD vinyl to the till was not coincidental to the recent passing...

If you've a mind to, pick up 'Dream Sequence'. It's a kind of 'best of', but works very well in it's own right, imo

Hi, I'm a fairly sporadic poster myself, but welcome to the forum and a return to the pleasures of vinyl. Blue by Joni Mitchell is just a fabulous album isn't it?

Enjoy and I look forward to hearing what you've been listening to.

Very intersting selection, Charlie; I'd like the new Belle And Sebastian...when I can get my bloody bike out! There's always ice on the road.

I like Scott 3, but I love Scott 4: one of the greatest records ever made and you've inspired me to play it! I'll play Scott 3 while I'm at it.

Be interested to hear your take on the new Bob...it's had somewhat mixed reviews but it sounds interesting to me.

Regards.

If there was one Mogwai album to try, which one would it be?

I like Beetroot too

I came to Mogwai via a French TV series on C4 for which they scored the soundtrack - Les Revenants (The Returned). This is a mellower, more ethereal album and not like their other material I have heard.

I would start with their latest offering, "Rave Tapes". The title does not reflect the content, by the way. I think it's a cracker.

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band: 'The Resurrection Of Pigboy Crabshaw'.

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band: ; Keep On Moving'
