going to buy either the nad c315bee & c515bee or CA 340a & 340c depending on the best deal i can find

there seems to be a lot of choice of speakers such as

- wharfedale 9.0 at richer sounds £49 half price

- tannoy f1 5 stars in what hifi about £80

- cambridge s30 i guess they would go well with the CA kit

- M-S 902i more expensive but recommended in what hifi review of the NAD package

- q acoustics 1020i the speakers used in the NAD review

How do I go about decided on what speakers? Are they all similar ? I will not be playing music very loud often as I have a neighbour above and I want a nice open spacious sound where I can hear a lot of detail (eg cocteau twins). But I also like some heavier stuff like biffy clyro atm.

I'd look at good secondhand classic/vintage speakers on ebay .... some really good older speakers for cheap ... do your research, ask questions on the forums and take your time in choosing ...

Has anyone got any of the above mentioned speakers or any others a similar price?

I want a pair that sound detailed, airy and big, I guess I can always change them if I'm not satisfied.

Money has been my stumbling block so far as I've had other things to pay for which has got in the way of buying my hi-fi but I am nearly there!

The NAD is now more expensive on superfi and its looking like the CA might be better value.

Also would you recommend a £40/£50 rack from Richer sounds or a similar priced wood veneered Ikea cabinet such as the Lack model for sitting the equipment on plus a tv at a later date?
