I would like to see such components as Accuphase, Sugden, Harbeth... I know some of this is review by the Australian wing of the publication, but I can't read upside down 😋
Think you've more chance of seeing a one-eyed chimp walking past your front door.I'd like to see a decent review of the Cambridge Alva ST turntable and not the half-a**ed cack they tried to pass off last year using a deck they'd barely lifted out the box.

YouTubers are reviewing for a reason it doesn't mean they are any good or have apropriate means of analysis, they are doing it for a reason that any other group of reviewers dont as they are paid to do so. Reviewing for a purpose or purely for self -indulgent is the crux. Once again purely one person's view. Why do they though? Ultimately a WHF review is just one person’s opinion. Most likely a less experienced one, based on current editorial staff, than many YouTubers who have garnered a good reputation.
Nothing about a WHF review, other than it being done in my front room, would ever convince me about anything in particular.
As someone else said already, a reviewer doesn’t have my ears, my room, my existing equipment, nor my taste in music. Far too many variables.
I completely agree, my point was that in many cases they probably have a more relevant/detailed/better opinion than some at WHF.YouTubers are reviewing for a reason it doesn't mean they are any good or have apropriate means of analysis. Once again purely one person's view.
Basically all are meaningless until you go listen for yourself.
Not the Unicorn?I never had a problem selecting the right kit for my hifi.
You have to trust in the Yoda.... Vooooosh

To be fair, that’s one thing WHF reviews are not. One person’s work that is. Their whole ethos is on a team approach (minimum two people), unlike most other journals who name tag the solo reviewer accordingly. Why do they though? Unicorn only if you have been enlightened by the sonic merits of USB cables 🦄😅Not the Unicorn?
If you believe that, you'll also believe the moon is made from cheese, earth is flat and Owen Farrell tackles within the laws of rugby! To be fair, that’s one think WHF reviews are not. They do explain this in their magazine from time to time, if not every edition. And it’s here too, if you scroll down a bit.
Well, in the days they were based in Teddington they kindly invited a few loyal readers every so often to their premises. PP will remember it too, was it called ‘readers panel’ or something? We got to tour the premises, meet the team, have lunch in the nearby pub, then take part in a listening session during the afternoon. If you believe that, you'll also believe the moon is made from cheese, earth is flat and Owen Farrell tackles within the laws of rugby!
Yeah, it was the Big Question, where they invited different members once a month to review certain pieces of hi-fi, AV, cables etc etc. I was invited to hear different amps with two different speakers (ATC SCM11 against Ruark Sabre 3). @bigboss was invited to test AV stuff... each month the Big Q was featured in the mag.Well, in the days they were based in Teddington they kindly invited a few loyal readers every so often to their premises. It was pretty clear that this was the case. One member obviously wrote the words, but based on joint views about overall performance and where the kit under review stood relative to its price range rivals.
Unfortunately, I’ve not been to the moon, or fallen off the earth. And I don’t follow rugby!
Yes I was invited to a blind test on stereo amplifiers vs AVRs for music. They had a great setup and listening room. It was very well conducted.Yeah, it was the Big Question, where they invited different members once a month to review certain pieces of hi-fi, AV, cables etc etc. I was invited to hear different amps with two different speakers (ATC SCM11 against Ruark Sabre 3). @bigboss was invited to test AV stuff... each month the Big Q was featured in the mag.
Well the Moon was certainly made of cheese, when Wallace and Gromit went there...If you believe that, you'll also believe the moon is made from cheese
They used to post video reviews on YouTube. Here's one talking about how they test.Be interesting too see a video of the tests or even the set ups.
Looks like you already have one from your signature. Presumably it’s “perfect”, as ASR like them? What do you reckon?Come' on WHF.... give us an EVERSOLO review......Do it for Hans Solo and I'll give you a Polo...

I was estactic about the Topping E50, a great budget DAC but Eversolo Z8 just brings the music to another level, yes it's many times the price but worth every penny spent.Looks like you already have one from your signature. Presumably it’s “perfect”, as ASR like them? What do you reckon?
