Hi Peterpan,
Well, as someone who has recently bought a Sonos ZP90 (hooked up to my main hi-fi system), I can definitely recommend it - really easy to use, all your music (plus spotify, napster etc if you subscribe, and a zillion internet radio stations) at your fingertips, no more getting up to change CD, pack them away etc......but you would be well advised to get a decent DAC to get the best out of it.
I don't have any experience of NAD products, so I couldnt comment on how it would compare.
You could buy an Audiolab 8200CDQ like I have, which is a CD player with an excellent DAC built in, and an amazing headphone amp.
Squeezebox Touchg could also be considered, have heard lots of good stuff about them, but no experience (plus I think if you are a PC moron like me, the Sonos is much more straightforward).
