What Model Marantz Speakers do I have?

Hey Forum,

I was wondering if I could tap into your collective wisdom. I have a set of Marantz Speakers I bought second hand. However, I can not seem to find the model.

Anyone who does know what I have in stock?

I don’t recognise them, and I’d not even be certain they aren’t some generic speakers with a Marantz badge on the front. That’s because there is always a manufacturer logo and spec plate on the back, but I can’t see one.

good point, they don't look like the sort of drive units Marantz have used in the past.

Google Marantz speakers and nothing like them shows up.....

Couldn’t see that on the original pics. That makes me think they’re genuine, but not a typical model for them. Are you in the UK? Any clues where they came from?

You got me thinking - that’s dangerous, I know! I reckon they’re from an AV bundle. Marantz LS 6000 is the closest I’ve found so far.

They’re from the Philips era.

Not really engraved. Just a logo on a common part that could be used in many speakers. may not be original to the speakers. Unlikely but possible.

Well spotted. They certainly looked more Philips than Marantz when I first saw the photos, however isn't your fist photo the FB1000?

Found another pair that was auctioned a couple years back.

What's notable is that the speakers have a glass top.

Well found! That’s a pretty decent spec and quite a substantial size/weight. How do they sound?

They sound great! Always have. Had them paired with a PM-72 for the past 4-5 years. And can testify that they are very heavy.
