Excluding the Pioneers, does anyone have any opinions of the best TV currently available in this category?

Thanks

Most plasmas tend to be 42" and 50". I'm not aware of any, but then we mainly deal with Pioneer, who have released a 46" LCD. If it's anywhere near as good as their 37" model, it could very well be the best looking 46" TV available. Did you have a budget in mind?

Only panasonic make 46" 1080 plasma. You have the choice between the Z80/Z81/Z85.

Thanks for the advice - what's the best out of the Z80/Z81/Z85? I use Sky HD so not concerned about any freeview/HD tuners.

As much as I would like a Pioneer, I think my £1500 budget is too low.

85 has more bells/whistles, IFC, optical digital output, Surround Sound, looks different, HDMI layout different (80 has one at the front, 85 is on the side). PQ is similar.

Best value at the moment is the 50PZ80, £1110 at Laksky/Dixons, not much more than the 46PZ80 and cheaper than the 46PZ85.

46PZ85 has a power rating of 387W compared to 46PZ80 470W. God knows how!
