hello , I have a dilemma
smiley-undecided.gif
, what cd player would be a best maching to my rotel ra 06se.? At the moment I'm using

CD Cambridge audio 340c (coax) Caiman DAC (crimson plus) chord odyssey 2 B&W 601s3. It sounds little bright ,how to achieve a bit warmer sound with better midrange . Rotel amp is about 2 weeks old and speaker cables about 3 days

Do You think the amp is still in burn in period ? and I should wait couple of weeks?

I consider about new cd player anyway , marantz cd6003 , nad c545bee , rega apollo , which one would make my set up little warmer? in future want to upgrade speakers (probably b&w684 ) thank You for suggestions folks

Hi domenn

From my experince the Nad is the warmest sounding cdp out of the 3 have owned all 3 of them. Also give the amp and speaker cable time to burn in. You may just need time for the system to settle.

Best regards

Gtncj.

hello Gtncj , Thank You very much for your response I will consider Nad 545 Bee but I see how price gone up

if I'll go for NAD

The NAD C545 CD player would be my suggestion for warmth. There was a batch over a year ago that had some issues and NAD were swift and efficient in resolving these. We had a few back and repaired at the time but since issues have been rarer. Build quality overall is excellent. It's also worth listening to the Yamaha CD-S700 which isn't as warm but does have a very neutral sound as another impressive player in its class.

Hi domenn

Aparently there was some issues with some of the switches and ic10 but a Nad rep has said to me these issues have now been resolved.

The most important thing is what you think and always try and get a shop demo or a home demo as the home listernig enviroment has a major role in the final decision.

why a cd player?

rega dac is a nice one! buy an Imac put all your cd's lossless in iTunes and buy an Ipad as remote

no just joking, if already owned an Imac+iPad so that's why I choose to stream.

I think Rega Apollo is a great buy if you want a cd player, but marantz has some nice players too.
