hi and merry christmas to you all, i wish to add acd player to my system which consists of denon avr1910,lg bd370 andms 302 satellites with 916i floorstanders. My question is what cd player would suit best, i have in mind the marantz6003 (but what can the wifi do) and the nad 545bee any other suggestions welcome and would adding a dacmagic with it improve sound quality.

The NAD C545bee is a fanstastic player. I recently read a review that stated it would compete favorably with players costing 4x the price. However, there have been build quality issues not relating to the sound quality. So that is a factor. Although NAD is pretty good about warranty work.

If you are considering the DAC magic, the CDP is less important. Why not buy the cheaper NAD C515 with the DAC magic? Should shound very similar.

But you don't need the DAC magic to make the NAD C545 sound good. It sounds great stand alone. If you are only considering the DAC to improve the sound and you do not have other sources you need to hook up to the DAC, then I would suggest you forget the DAC and just buy a pricier CDP. Consider the Rega Apollo, or Cyrus 6se.

Full agree with jaxwired, the Nad 545BEE is a fantastic player. I have had mine for about 2 months and have really enjoyed listening to all types of music on it. No problems so far, so I guess Nad have fixed up the early problems that plagued this player. Give it a listen.

im not convinced youll benefit from a cd player with that av amp

its a budget model and id think the bd would be a more than adequate source

at best id be looking at the budget tangent ca or marantz models as its not worth spending more unless you decide to upgrade

I agree. Your amplification will hold back any gains you might get from a half decent cd player.

ok so would i get a decent sound using the bd with coaxial out to dac and still be able to play blu-ray over hdmi without having to disconnect the coaxial to get hd sound.
