I really don't care for Bono, but I have to doff my cap and admit that having seen part 3, he played a very significant part in the cancellation of third world debt. But I can understand the old joke about 'what's the difference between God and Bono?'

Been watching Bookish, the new Mark Gatiss detective show set in 40s London. My friend is in it, and pleased to say I’m really enjoying it.

Watched Adolescence on Netflix, having seen it's write up in Delayed Gratification. Story about a girl murdered by a 13 year-old boy, and more of a whydunnit than a whodunnit. Each of the four parts is filmed in one shot, which could feel like a contrivance but totally didn't. Disturbing and brilliantly acted - wholeheartedly recommend it.

Finally got around to watching MobLand.

I enjoyed it , even if slightly ruined by the hype which it didn't quite live up to, and Brosnan and Mirren's Irish accents.

Netflix in September is making the final showing Season 3 of Wednesday.

Re-watching Mare of Easttown - great drama.

Two-parter on iPlayer about the role of Derry in WW2 in fighting the U-boats (Nazis, U-boats and the Battle for the Atlantic). Pretty interesting, though done in a typically Beeb documentary way - a little too long, too much music and an overly-dramatic narration.

James May on the Edge of Space is back on iPlayer too - opposite of those criticisms!

What did you think? We thought it was very disappointing. The only one that felt like it had any legs was the therapy sketch, which was (perhaps tellingly) just them - but even that felt like a poor relation to the good old days.

We only managed about 1 1/2 episodes before we gave up because there wasn't many laughs to be had.

Shame because it had potential, I thought, with that ensemble cast.

We got half way through the 2nd half of the first one, but even that became an exercise in counting consecutive misses.
