Strange Darling. Excellent film. Filmed in 6 chapters, but played in the wrong order to throw you off track. Brilliantly done and keeps you trying to figure it out all along. It was recommended to me and I definitely recommend it to you.

I'm actually going to order the 4K UHD disk from Amazon, thanks for the recommendation, looking forward to watching it.

Nope, nor via iPlayer 😉

I haven't watched anything live in over a decade because why would I?

It's about the most antiquated and inconvenient way to watch anything!
It is the case that you need a licence to watch any BBC programme though, right Dave?
I thought you once said you haven't had a licence for about a decade.
If so, I'm interested to know how you do it....as I'd like not to need one.

You CANNOT use iPlayer to view BBC content either live or on demand despite what you were told on the phone.

Though you can legally use iPlayer without a licence to watch S4C on demand

You only need a licence to watch or record "live" TV or to watch BBC content on iPlayer.

The BBC make their content available on other platforms though. Since I watch so little I usually just buy it on YouTube/Google Play or Amazon etc.

Morally questionable but most BBC content shows up on unofficial YouTube channels the day of broadcast/publishing on iPlayer.

That's how I watched gone fishing, but since I will end up buying it once it appears elsewhere that how I personally justify watching it on YouTube.

Indeed not.
And I was under the impression that ANY use of i-player was forbidden without a licence - which is what the MSE site makes clear (OK for other channels catchup services).

MSE is always spot on with all the (very complicated) T&C for savings accounts etc - I'd be more than surprised if they're wrong about TV licence requirement.
