Coraline

Watched this with the kids (ages 5.5, 3.5 and 2.2) and it was a bit scary for them really, although not as scary as the Spiderwick Chronicles. I thought it was an OK film. My wife prefers the funny ones.

I bought a few other films today (Sainsburys 3 for £12). So, my wife and I will be watching this...

If I were to sum up Watchmen with a single word, it would be "Slow". If I were being harsh, I would say "Boring". Given two words, I'd go for "Very slow". Oh, and the cushion wasn't required.

Hurt Locker. Tosh......good 1st hour, then it just divebombs. Poor acting and script. Truly, truly over-hyped. There are a lot of reviewers out there who should be hanging their heads in shame. If at the 1hr 30 min point they were not thinking 'Good Lord, how much longer.....?' then they're lying.

Watched Sky Arts Classic Albums: Metallica - The Black Album yesterday. Really entertaining and interesting to watch. Had footage of them recording the album, demo tracks, interviews etc. Well worth a watch.

My cousin took me to the pictures for a birthday treat.

Cute dog, certificate U, I though it'd be a nice happy family film but it was a bit sad. Snifle.

The dog, of course, ended up stuffed and in a museum...

But thanks for the reminder - have just ordered it on US Blu-ray for Mrs E, who wants to see it, thus avoiding the need for me to sit through it in the cinema...

Saw 'Harry Brown' last night.

Not as subtle as 'Gran Torino', but enjoyable none-the-less. Biggest disappointment was the appaling CGI blood effects. squibs and blood packs would surely have been cheaper and more realistic.

Also rented '9', 'Couples Retreat' (Mmmm.....Kristen Bell) & 'In The Electric Mist' which I'd never heard of, but Tommy Lee Jones is good in anything, or so I'm hoping.

Will let you know my thoughts as I watch them. Just don't expect JD levels of depth.

Concert_By_The_Lake_BR_sleeve_(hr)small.jpg

This is the most impressive music blu ray I have heard/seen so far. Had the Audyssey switched off, sounded loads better. A true concert sound, and made me rather upset that I had bought ZZ Tops rather flat sounding Live In Texas. Live & learn I suppose, Lovefilm from now on me thinks.
