Off work today with the house to myself, so its been a loud as i like day ( my favourite day of the week ! )

I intended to watch a movie before my precious treasure came home but a combination of Led Zeppelins how the west was won, My Computers no cv, Sparklehorse's its a wonderful life and David Holmes presents The Free Association got in the way of Watchmen, so i'll put it on after the soaps tonight and i'll endure with good humour the usual "i don't know why you want to watch something we saw at the cinema a few months ago"

UNKLE is another band i've overlooked in the past(like Gomez) that i've recently re-discovered,good ol' Spotify.

I'm a big fan of FSOL also.Give 'Lifeforms' a listen if you haven't already,probably my favourite FSOL album.

I prefer FSOL when they crank it up and my favourite album is Dead Cities.....

My favourite track is Slider off ISDN. I got lucky one night and switched on the radio for a drive home, as FSOL were broadcasting via Radio 1 from their studio. I liked it so much I just kept on driving up and down the M8.

Liszt: A Faust Symphony (Blochwitz/Budapest Festival Orchestra/Ivan Fischer) Philips Classics.

A superb orchestral recording of a wonderful work.

Very beautiful singing and some very interesting song choices. Recording quality is excellent as well - much less sterile than some recent EMI releases.

Its a fantastic recording and has already become one of my favourite Shostakovich recordings. The sound quality does it justice too. The BBC Music discs are frequently superb and worth the cover price on their own. I've been collecting them since volume 3.

Finally got round to buying the 2004 remaster of Graceland and it sounds far far better than the original CD release. I'd forgotten what an incredible album that is.

The remaster of Beastie and the Broadsword (Tull) is another new purchase and, again, a massive improvement on the original release.

I'm very partial to ELO and 'Secret Messages' is a new one for me, but I'm enjoying it very much.

Still enjoying UNKLE. If I had any musical ability and could form a band it would be like UNKLE. Experimenting with sounds, mixing genres and guest vocalists all adding to the mix. Best of all, I would not be very famous, so the paparatzi and the public would leave me alone.

I have switched to Vitalic. Not my kind of music, but the imaging and stereo effects on the headphones are amazing! The sound is coming at me from everywhere. But back to UNKLE.
