Still on Spotify. The Trower is not as heavy as Bridge of Sighs

Inspired by slayerboy's post.

I think it's good, but I'm still not loving it as much as I feel I should. Don't know what's missing.... I think I miss the odd meters and awkward time signatures of my fave bands.

I will give this a try off Spotify, or would you recommend a different Machine Head album.
Big Chris you definately have the best album covers for artwork

Machine Head's first album 'Burn My Eyes' is still far and away their best IMO. The drummer on that album was a guy called Chris Kontos, and I hate to say it, but he wipes the floor with M.H's current drummer Dave McClain. The songs were better too.

But as I've said, they're far from being my favourite band.

Going a bit country/folk rock at the moment...........................................

I kicked Machine Head into touch and tried these 2 after ldc's post yesterday. Grateful Dead are a band I never got into but I enjoyed these off Spotify followed with

I've had a Spotify Groundhogs afternoon. Does anyone remember them. I think I saw them at Loughborough Uni around 1971.
For anyone looking at some new 1970s rock to try it may be worth a listen. Try Split first
Should have played this on Groundhog day if I new when it was.

I started the afternoon session on Spotify: first off was Blue October (as found by Bretty) - not for me I'm afraid. Now on to Willie Hutch ("Brother's gonna work it out"). Feels like it's a Saturday night fever all over again...

Another early 70s band. Well worth a listen. Rory Gallagher before he went on his own
