Another great new box set of Furtwangler recordings to work through, this time on EMI and mostly with the Vienna Phil, though some things are with Berlin.

The remastering isn't done as well as on the Audite box set of the RIAS Berlin live recordings but it is still a decent job given the age of the recordings.

Currently listening to some old Vox magazine free CD's from 1993 and 1994.

Some people get a bit sniffy about the free CD's from mags but I've got over 200 of the gathered over the last 15/20 years from Uncut, Mojo, Q etc.and some of them are crackers. Granted quite a few are pants, but I've lost count of the number of acts I've got turned on to by a freebie.
