Recently returned from a memorable listening session.

A friend was kind enough to invite me & my brother-in-law to hear our music played over his system.Incidentally,he'd brought his prized components with him from the US,when he moved to the UK.His system comprising of a modified Wadia 581ise CD/SACD player,Pass Labs' XP-20 pre./X-350.5 & a pair of Wilson Audio Maxx 2's.

Among those we heard:

Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies/Sap & MTV Unplugged.

The Clash - London Calling & The Singles.

Foo Fighters - Skin & Bones & The Colour & the Shape(10th anniversary double-disc issue).

Kings of Leon - Aha.Shake.Heartbreak.

Nirvana - Live at Reading(Deluxe edition CD & DVD),MTV Unplugged.

Pearl Jam - Riot Act,Ten(remastered 3-disc box-set) & Vs.

Pixies - Bossanova,Doolittle & Trompe le Monde.

Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris & Lullabies to Paralyze.

Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures.

Ultimately,Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf got the honours on the night...I'd all but forgotten just how good this record is.My appreciation of the album was evidently enhanced by the extra insight, seperation & soundstaging this system imparted to the performance.

For a good day afterwards it felt like my heart was palpitating in time to the baseline of 'Go With the Flow'!

Those Yanks sure are lucky to have so many leading high-end audio manufacturers established there.

BABUR.

I am currently listening to Fireflies by Owl City.

This song is great. This is one of my recent favorite songs.
