First amp was an old Memorex amp. Given to me by an uncle.
Then an old technics amp which I still have. Its from the early 90's I think.
Entry level denon bought as a second system in about 2005. Still have but no space to use at the moment.
Sony STR DA1200ES.
Sony STR DA5300ES will be getting set up this afternoon :)
Sony STR DA5400ES as soon as its cheap enough.
then who knows.

Would they be the ones with cast MISSION cases designed by Stan Curtis ?

Yes thats the ones , the 776 pre amp is battery powered with a built in charger and the cast case work spells mission .

The power amp is the same casting but without the knobs ,

The black ones I have are a very early pair but the other 777 power amp I have is a later BU ( beefed up ) model in the silver /grey hammerite type finish .

The pre amp was fine until I had the movung magnet input boards changed to moving coil because it suffered badly from RFI from that point ,

The power amp is the star though a truly superb power amp !

I've had more amps than anything else, but still not many compared to a lot of people here.

Pioneer SX-440

Goodmans GSA 650

Pioneer A-110

Ariston AX-910

NAD C350

NAD C326BEE

The first 3 still exist over at my parents house. The last 3 I have with me, the Ariston has been unused for 10 years, the C350 died last year and the C326BEE is my current amplifier.

The NAD C350 is/was my favorite.

Yamaha rxv-357, sold it to buy;

Marantz PM7001 which will hopefully be sold once I decide what to upgrade it to ...

And a couple of Technics amps I got cheap off the carboot ,one of them I still use with my Q Acoustic 1030's (will have to go and look at their model numbers some time.) And a "Sherwood" 5.1 amp I use with some small Yamaha surround speakers for a bedroom surround setup

SANSUI AU G30X, very nice sound but lacked punchy bass

KENWOOD 3020SE overrated, got rid after a short time

MARANTZ PM7200, best amp I have had

MARANTZ PM4001, for a second system, good punchy sound , not the most detailed, refined crisp treble though, but its cheap !

MARANTZ PM7001, like it

MARANTZ PM6004, like it

YAMAHA AS500, good , but issues such as some noise on the volume pot , (a bit of a crackly clicky sound that only happens when a signal going through and is not that noticble)

I have come to the conclusion Marantz make the best amps in this sector IMO

Forgot to add my NAD C352,... sold it on , dont understand all the fuss over this one, it sounded decent enough but , slightly hollow in the midrange

Aura VA100 Evolution

Over twenty years now and still the only two-channel amp to have graced my main system. I have worked through a few sources and sets of loudspeakers but the Aura has remained a constant, and though I occasionally flutter with the idea of upgrading, I keep coming back to the thought I would need to invest a fair amount of cash to get a noticeable improvement. And since my step-dad, who refurbishes 1970s amps as a hobby, cleaned it all up eighteen months ago it is as good as ever :)

Unitra AT9100
Diora WS 354
Sony HCD-SE1 mini system that came with Sony SS-CSE speakers... still have in our bedroom, this system let me listen music
changed Sony to Rotal RA-11, big disappointment - don't want to go into details but music wasn't present.
Marantz PM6004.. much better than Rotel, not better than my little Sony
Marantz M-CR510 now... and I know it's not forever, but sounds same or better than PM6004 ( with Kef's) and no better than little Sony ( with Sony's).
