got the upgrade bug.looking to replace my rotel ra 05 amp would the omkyo a 9050 or denon 720 ae be only a sideways step.i use a denon 3313 blu ray player for my source using the dedicated rca outputs.speakers are acoustic energy neo 3s floorstandings.what amps would anybody reccomend music taste heavy rock/metal so a good sounding bassy amp not bright treble would suit.looking to spend about £500-£600.

Probably a sideways step, if I were you I would push your budget up a touch or consider some ex demo or nearly new amps. The best I have heard is the Creek 50A £700, for more bass I would look at the Roksan Kandy K2 which can be had for around £600 new.

I would add the Arcam A19 to that list. The Rega Brio R would also be worth a listen.

thanks for your replies but a bit more than i would like to pay.what about a rotel ra 11 or pioneer a 50 both about £500 in my budget.any advise please.
