Hi,
If you purchase a Naim amplifier, they do not include an output inductor in their design, so you need to use special speaker cables, with a minimum length. Please see :
Speaker Cable for Naim power amplifiers
Naim power amplifiers do not have extra inductance networks in the output. Naim prefer the more elegant solution of allowing the speaker cable to provide the correct inductance and capacitance. To do so, a minimum of 3.5 metres per channel of NACA4 or NACA5 cable is required – although the...community.naimaudio.com
As such, i would not purchase Naim amplifiers - Naim cables can be costly.

Hi, how cheap are we talking here?
I do have quite a bit of Naim speaker cable with these funny pin plugs on end. That has confused me, as that won’t fit in a standard amp?
Would it only be an amp with phone stage I would need - or do I need preamps etc.?
I am just looking to get this working - upgrades can happen in the future.

Yours is a high output MC, yes? It should work with a regular MM input but the gain might be low. If your chosen amp wasn’t suitable, a better phono stage (pre-preamp) can be plugged into a spare Aux input.I have a bluepoint special evo III cart, if that helps
nice one.....no no no you don't need to spend that kind of money on a Cambridge audio cxa 81
Did you say it's a temporary amp ?
Rotel a11 tribute for £500 can do it mabye even better than the Cambridge audio cxa 81 and have more then enough power for your speakers
