Wharfedale 10.1 or Mission M30

I have a receiver/amplifier, Pioneer VSX D814

I would like to have two loudspeakers, small ones. My demands aren't that high, let's say average. I would like to keep the receiver if possible.
First I just want to listen to music. On a leter time I maybe want to invest on a surround system. So, if I understand the surround-language allright, I start with front speakers.

The Wharfedale Diamond 10,1 or Mission M30 seem nice.

My questions:
- Is there a big difference between Wahrfedale and Mission?
- Am I obliged to buy instantly a subwoofer with them?
- are there possibilities to hang them on the wall?
- Do thet fit with the receiver or are there better options, better surrounf ampilfier/receivers?

Oh, there are better bookshelfers out there of course...

B&W 685 for example, but they'll cost you.

Hi Ron,

IMO if the system is only going to be used for music i wouldnt worry
about surround sound and would put the money into a nice integrated 2
channel amplifier and a decent CD player. My home theatre doesnt even
come close too my Hi-Fi for music, the Hi-Fi is miles ahead in all round
detail, dynamics, clarity, sound stageing and presentation. I would
only go for surround sound if the system is intended for movies (even my
music dvd's sound a lot better through my Hi-Fi in 2 channel mode
rarther than 5.1 through my home theatre IMO)

I cant really say about the speakers as i havent heard either of them, also IMO subwoofers tend to make bass a bit overwelming for music unless you really lash out on a expensive one however some people like the extra bass.

Take M30 if you want it loud, but not for long, you will find it sound little harsh in treble after some period of usage.

Then you'll realise the need to find the right way of sound as brought by Diamond 10.1
