Dear Joe,

Thank you for reading my original message and coming back to me so quickly.

You can instead select 'Tested at price' to sort all the amps by price, which is more accurate than we had on the old site.

Not the same thing. I meant the VERY useful feature where you listed your recommended three items under the headings - BUDGET | MID-RANGE | HIGH-END:

DVD/Blu-Ray Player

Amplifier

Speaker System

Joe Cox said:
That's not one Best Buy product - that's a preview of our Best Buys AV amps page. Click on the one listing and you're taken to our Best Buys page for amps. Make sense?

No Joe. Not at all.

The proper intuative functionality is that the Best Buys tab should have the number of Best Buys in the bracketed number. i.e. Best Buys (4) means there are four Best Buys in this category.

When you click on the tab, the four Best Buys should be listed right there.

Anything else is meaningless.

Joe Cox said:
Our old Best Buys page had far less information on, were far less flexible and looked even worse! We can update these pages so expect them to improve but they are never going to duplicate the entire review - it's meant to be an at-a-glance list of products.

EXACTLY! I'm saying that there's too much info on the listing - one line woiuld do but add the price too.

Joe Cox said:
Agreed - noted.

Thank you Sir

Warmest regards

James

Loving the fact that the forum list shows how many posts have been made since you last read a topic - and even better you can go straight to them with one click.

The only thing I need sorted now is my posts keep freezing, forcing me to keep them short. That would be great for assistance on that one too - cheers!

Hi Macspur

I've made some changes to your user settings so hope that might help .

Hi Andy,

Thanks for trying, but still can't post links for Spotify nor Youtube.

Anything else you could do would be much appreciated.

Mac

Isn't it ironic that we are all guilty of complaining about the buttons and fonts wasting so much space when viewed on a mobile phone, then we go and add a signature that's about 3 miles long ... is it really necessary to list every single piece of equipment or cable or whether you have gold plated banana plugs? *scratch_one-s_head*

Just in case this comment was directed at me, my complaint isn't about the amount of space buttons are taking up, it's because I am blind and since the event of the new site, much of the forums have become totally inaccessible for me.

My screenreader can't even read the buttons, let alone worry about the space they take up!

Hi Mac ... The comment wasn't directed at anyone in particular, but just a general observation at the number of signatures that span several lines of valuable screen real estate [ ... the 'guilty' parties will know who they are ;) ... ]. Imagine if someone has several posts on the same page .... then 50% of what is on the screen is the same repeated user signature which can't be useful to anyone, especially where there are issues of accessibility. Speaking of which your comment is a useful reminder that the accessibility of this site is quite poor, for example there is no font size control or reader mode that I can find.

It always used to do that, a very handy feature. It doesn't do it on an iPhone anymore, not handy at all.

That's odd - on my PC (using Chrome) it never did it from the list of new / updated topics - only once I'd entered the actual thread. Now I can do it from the main list and jump directly to the newest message.

That is odd, as I think I only see it when I've entered the thread now, when before I could see it without entering a thread, which is preferable.

Perhaps we're all guineapigs and being directed to subtly different sites (Google and Facebook do this to test usage)?

I have a question from anyone who can answer, when you compose a post for example when you write at least one line, is the layout of what you compose exactly the same as what ends up on the forum, the reason i ask is because it never used to be.

it wasn't last week, Simon. I copied a table which lost all its formatting and became one long, and hard to decipher, sentence. And it still freezes when trying to edit on any iPad.

Do I have a new thread (posted yesterday evening) hanging in 'limbo' somewhere or awaiting permission or something? (Or would it have just disappeared?)

The system appeared to to accept the new thread, after I saved it, but it never emerged.

Also, is it possible to remove the need for me to do a word verification check when I post?

Provided you stick to the usual '[insert name of celebrity here] RIP', you won't go far wrong.
