Hey Jason

Thnaks for your reply. It was this review that made me worry about the input lag.

"Here's the not-so-good news: even with [100Hz Motion Plus] disabled,
we measured input lag on the LE40A656 to be 30ms slower than our
resident Samsung F96, which means that it's up to 60ms slower than the
Sony W4000. While most people will not be affected by this, sensitive
gamers will probably experience this input lag in games demanding sharp
reflexes. We certainly did: in Call Of Duty 4 somehow we were unable to
nail as many headshots on the Samsung LE40A656 , though we readily
concede that the reason might very well have been psychological."

You need to upload your photos to a site like flickr then once you have successfully stored your photos there right click on our photo and copy the images url which is found under the properties tab once you have right clicked.

then back on here when typing a post you can see a little box in your toolbar which is a tree (next to the smilyface) click on this then paste the images url into the url box set the pictures diamensions and there you have it

thanks for the tip

done a great job there mate ,looks very cool .are you happy with it now or are you already planing your next upgrard or adition?

I remember seeing your system right at the start and I have to say that looking at it right now it is a very nice set-up you got there matey. The firplace looks quality too, i am real jealous of that. A pioneer telly or a projector would finish it off nicely.

Looks beautiful and neat.

If only you could hide the hdmi cable and power chord, it would look just like a magazine ad. for sure!

Cheers.

Hey Jase

My LE40A656A has been delivered today after fed ex managed to lose it! Have spent the day playing with the settings but have not touched the colour balance side of things. Just wondering if you would mind taking that picture of your settings when you get the chance. Would be a good base for me to start on. I'm really loving the picture without much calibrating.

Many Thanks

As promised , I have been using these settings since i purchased the screen over 1 year ago, your going to love it !

I use these setting for watching HD movies and find it perfect.

Tell me what you think when you have set it up.

Having a look through your settings jasonsony735 it looks to me IMHO you have a few settings there that are counter balencing each other out. What did you use to aquire these settings?

I take it you like your TVs picture to be a bit on the bright side? surely in having your Dynamic contrast set to medium and also having your energy saving set to LOW the 2 are balencing each otherout? and with your contrast set to 95 (very high IMHO) is there any further need to try and boost contrast? Alos with the backlight set to 7 do you not have issues with backlight bleed? Also should you not have your xvYCC set to ON?

Nice looking set up tho

Well first you will not find any perfect setting for Calibrationing this Screen as everyone has thier own taste in how they want the picture to be , I really like the settings the way i have set it up.

The picture is'nt bright on these settings , Dynamic contrast is best at medium as on High you get alot of lag and shake on quick action, Energy saving set to low as with any electrical product you want it getting the max power so it runs the way it should 🙂

Also no backlight bleed , thats one of the things i dont like about LCD and non of that is going on with the settings i have setup

If you have this Screen then try my settings out and tell me what you think , I find it looks perfect for HD movies.

If you search Calibating this Screen on Google your find everyone does it Dif lol 🙂

Cheers for the settings Jase. I personally have my back light on 4 but i'm watching in a dark very room. Do you have the screen set to just scan or 16:9. I have to switch between the two, just scan for hd stuff and 16:9 for dvd's.

Just watched iron man on blu ray and it looked amazing!

Hi guys just given you some details on my plans for the next 2 weeks ,

I am going to purchase the Denon 2310 and Pioneer 320 on 24th Aug so will take some new photos for you all to see .....

Im also trying to get my brother to go halfs with me on the Pioneer 5090 🙂

Half a 5090?.... curious about this. Why not hold off on the other bits, get the tv while you can then get the bluray player and amp at a later stage?

I would be tempted to keep your current tv and spend the money on a projector and a pull down celing mounted screen. If you want big screen thrills you may as well go the whole hog. Nice setup btw

Nice idea but i will never go for a projector ! we have them at work and the bulbs blow all the time ! what do they cost £50 a time ?...... also my room is to small !

I must admit i had a look at the new Samsung 55 inc LED at comet last night and was blown away by the picture so might end up getting one of them we will see. But first i am getting a new receiver as i do feel my speakers are missing out on the bass from just using the Denon 1909 and i believe the Denon 2310 will bring my speakers to life with Bass 🙂
