was near a currys / comet outlet so thought I would pop in on the off chance that they had the new V10 series in. They didnt :( however they did have the LG 60PS8000.

Hmmmm what can I say, it was stunning to look at, and the picture quality was very very good imo, had a play about with the different modes including the thx mode whilst viewing both oceans 13 on bluray (okay probably not realling stressing the set) but there was no pixellation close up, standard freeview was a quality picture as well (bearing in mind it was a superstore so probably hooked up to the same rf connection as all the other tv's )

I think I know where my hard earned is going, even the mrs commented on it being nice and to go for it!! (never thought she would go for anything bigger than 50")

Anyone got one and suffered with anything? (I know it can apparently suffer from image retention)

Hi Clare, to be honest it was the review that added the 50" LG to my list as it was an excellent price, it was sort of a fallback set for me as I didnt think the picture would be stunning (imo). I just thought that the v10 which will probably be around about £1600 must be a lot better for the extra outlay and as the tv will be for a few years I want the best I can afford. I'm not saying the V10 is not £600 quid better than the 50" LG but the picture on the 60" LG to me was stunning. (they didnt have the 50"LG PS8000 in although they had I think the PS3000 which was good but not like the PS8000) The blacks looked black (not washed out grey) and maybe the levels aren't up there with the V10 but to me if it looks black, it is black. Im just looking for the best price for the 60" now preferably with a 5yr guarantee, managed to find it for £1899 online using a discount code but thats only with a standard 1yr warranty
