Viewing Distances and 720p 1080p

not much need for the links to other sites... as anything under 37 there is not much of a difference at all, it may lose out slightly in the last bit of detail but SD quality is higher on HD ready sets than most full hd sets...

Matt S - what tv size do you think is best for a viewing distance of approx 9-10ft? 37 or 42?

I currently view a 37" pana px70 from this distance (great tv btw), but im just about to upgrade to a 42" plasma, because i feel that its just a tad too small for really enjoying movies at that distance.

Buy the 42" you won't regret it.

Specs look really good on this set for the price.

JSM i havent got the chance to see this set, and i doubt i will be able to, but if the 50" has picture noise... i wouldnt rule out the possibility of the 42 having the same problem... id say go with the PX80

Im looking at one of the three atm.

Pioneer 428xd, Panasonic 42pz800, or coming in from left field at the bargin price of £700, LG 42pg6000.

Im not too fussed about a full hd screen, but have included one in my thinking just to satisfy my own mind about sd quality on a full hd screen.
