i need help in working out how this all works i have the onkyo sr605 im waiting for the samsung ps50q96 to be delivered and im wanting the toshiba hd player 35 will i get all the benefits with a hdmi cable and all the hi-def audio with this set up or do i need different cables as i dont think they are all v1.3 compliant?? please help as my wallet has now been emptied and cant afford to spend any more money.

Hi Wizard,

The 605 and EP35 definitely are, but not your PS50Q96 (http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=television&type=television&subtype=plasma&model_cd=PS50Q96HDX/XEU).

The V1.3a have features that you'll probably not notice or bother about (Auto-lip synch, Deep Colour, Wider bandwith, etc).

You should be able to get all the latest audio from your 605 as long as your source material has it. Do make sure you get a v1.3 compliant cable between the 605 and ep35 (around £10 from Play.com)
