Hi, with a recent purchase of a Pure I 20 ipod dock I want to improve the sound so was thinking of purchasing one of the above...but which would I invest my money in? advice please. I can see that the dac magic has way more connections but the v dac is slim and could just fit where I want it to fit! both look great...but which one, can't decide?

Cannot speak from first-hand experience, but these were both debated recently (amongst a load more irrelevant stuff) here:

Start around 2 October for the relevant bits!

I'd have the MF because I think it has a better pedigree, but that's just me.

Have to say I found that the connections were about the best thing you could say of the DM - sound-wise, it was a rather brittle sounding thing. Too bright for my tastes and the Spitfire II that I use leaves it standing.

I have the v-dac 2, it's a great dac for the money, it can be upgraded with a musical fidelity v-psu too.
