I am in the progress of upgrading my Hi-Fi. So far I have purchased a Roksan Caspian M2 Integrated amplifier, Clearaudio Concept turntable (I will use the moving magnet cartridge supplied with the turntable), a Tom Evans Microgroove Phono Stage, a pair of ATC SCM 11 speakers and a pair of Partington Super Dreadnought Speaker Stands. Can anyone please recommend a CD player and a Turner both within the £500-£1,500 price range? Thanking you in advance. Bollie.

Thank you very much. I am loving the feedback and reviews on the Naim CD5XS.

Can anyone please recommend a turner in the £500-£1,500 price range? Thank you in advance. Bollie.

Probably worth hearing the Roksan Caspian M2 CD player too.

As for tuners, it depends if you want DAB and/or internet stations (where I think NAD and Marantz offer models). There is always the Kandy tuner, or an Arcam FMJ T32.

Or Naim for both!

Hi,

Would also suggest the Caspian m2 and the naim xs, I went for the m2 but was close, depends on what you want to hear from your system,I found the caspian a bit more detailed and punchy, maybe the naim slightly smoother in delivery.
I also was looking for matching cd and amp if aesthetics come into your choice.

Good luck

Thank you to the both of you. My current tuner is the Arcam DT91 DAB/FM turner so upgrading to the Arcam FMJ T32 DAB/FM turner would make a lot of sense. Arcam are well respected when it comes to turners. Both of you have mentioned the Roksan Caspian M2 CD player, this of course would match the amp I have purcahsed - the perfect bedfellows I hope! lol. Thanks again for your help. Bollie.

although I am highly biased on the CD5XS and have no doubt it would work well with your kit, I think synergy will be key. Its vital you audition both but from experience the roksan may sound better with your amp... and save you some cash too!

dont be fooled tho the xs is magic!

I have just this minute sent an email to my local(ish) HI-FI specialists, they sell both Naim and Roksan gear. I hope to get a listen this weekend (fingers crossed.)
