As a general principle always work from source to speakers so replace your CD player. There are some advantages of buying (perhaps second hand) a Cyrus integrated (say 8vs2) as the mcbus and single remote work well in a Cyrus only system.

I am of course assuming you have listened to your proposed system at a dealer before you launch into this project!
