Last week I found myself in the front room of a recently deceased man that I'd never met.
The room contained no furniture - it was just full of hi-fi and accessories, much of which had been moved down from the loft.
It seemed likely he'd never got rid of anything he'd ever bought.
I was told to take anything I wanted 😯
As an incurable hoarder myself, there's a moral to this story that I really shouldn't be ignoring - but anyway....I filled a small van - with floorstanders and bookshelf speakers, amps, CDP, tuners, 3 turntables, cartridges headphones...l'm trying not to think about what I had to leave behind....
Among the small speakers there were a pair of JPW Mini Monitors, which I'm looking forward to trying (apparently JPW used prison labour).
There were these other interesting mini speakers. The brand sounds almost like something made up to get some credibility.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words (even though I've already given you a thousand words 🤨)......

Using 'Q' long before Q-Acoustics
Might just need a couple of mid/bass drivers 🤔
They'd been glued as well as screwed - which must've been the reason someone had abandoned the removal attempt.

Nice SEAS tweeters - as used by others - and giving some nice HF out.
Plenty of internal foam...

As you can see
You've never seen that badge before
Simple crossover. But simple doesn't mean bad - that 7 microfarad cap is used in some well respected speakers, so I've discovered -and who needs a PCB? 😁
A potentially great little sealed box monitor...the only spanner in the works is the cost of replacement drivers.
Bextrene-coned Kef designer B110 from Falcon cost an arm and two legs, even for a non-matched pair (not critical as my ears are a non-matched pair).
Wilmslow do a paper coned alternative, still expensive.
I've found German made Visaton, £40 the pair at CPC - but they require cabinet modification....might have to get a sharp chisel out.
Even the Falcon and Wilmslow pairs may require cab mod - don't mind modding after spending £40, but would want drivers costing hundreds to fit straight in....
