Looking to connect Numark portable turntable to my Sony STR-DN1000 Receiver to let me hear my vinyl collection but am unsure best way to maximise sound reproduction. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

From the manual it does not look as if the Receiver has a phono input built in, so if your Numark does not have a Phono stage/amp built in then you will need an exteranal one.

Looking at the Numark manual

it appears you should be able to connect it straight into your Receiver, use the CD in.

If this signal is not good enough you will then need a cheap phono amp/stage.

How good a sound you will get is debatable.

Best of luck.

The output of these Numark portables (PT01 / PT01USB) is at line level. Putting the signal through an additional phono stage is unnecessary and potentially damaging to other equipment.
