CAN ANYONE HELP I AM A NOVICE HERE

SYSTEM SONY BDP 550 BLUE RAY AND SONY DG 820 RECEIVER

PROBLEM I HAVE PLAYED CASINO ROYALE , TRANSFORMERS AND RAMBO AND DISPLAY SHOWS AV RECEIVER OUTPUTTING ONLY DOLBY PL11X NOT DOLBY TRUE HD

ON THE RECEIVER CONSTANLY DISPLAYS LINEAR PCM IF THIS MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Linear PCM means that your BD player is streaming the audio to your receiver. Click "Audio" on your S550 remote and it tells you on screen what audio setting you are getting.

Ihad the same prolem with my Sony STR-DA2400ES and i have found that if select the AUDIO OUTPUT to both AMP & TV it will only output in PRO LOGIC II, so you have to switch the output to AMP only and it should work.

Also set all the other setting to AUTO in the RECEIVER and Blu-ray player.

Hope this will sort it.
