I've been given the opportunity to buy a lightly used Cambridge AXA 35 at a good price. I currently don't have a hifi but this has got me bringing forward a purchase. I will use it for streaming only so looking at one of the Wiim products for that.
I'm aware I'll need to audition the speakers but looking for suggestions please on creating a short list to try. They will be used in a 27x15 room with 7' ceiling. Listening distance will be approx 8-10'.
My musical tastes range from Pink Floyd, Dire Straits plus Clapton and Joe Bonamassa to Beth Hart and acoustic vocals.
Any advice appreciated

£500 floorstanders & cables or £500 bookshelf with stands & speaker cables

Wiim make streaming amplifiers , why take 2 bottles into the shower
£399 Wiim Amp Pro + £500 Speakers
Any suggestions other than price please or at that level am I going to run into issues with the amps not driving the speakers properly

The Wiim amp will handle floorstanding speakers as long as they are reasonably efficient.
No good if you intend using wired headphones at any point.
It is technically more powerful than the Cambridge you have in mind and is roughly the same price if buying new so is a good shout if you only intend to stream.
As for speakers they can be very difficult to recommend if you cannot actually audition them in your own home.
You are not going to find many decent ones for £500 unless you go second-hand apart from those Wharfedales I recommended.
