Hi

I just need a little advice please.

I have been offered a Pro-ject RPM 6 Turntable. I already have a Rega Planar 3.

Would I be able to transfer the Rega RB300 tone arm to the Pro-ject RPM 6?

Or is this a big problem?

Thanks in advance

Does the Project not come with a tonearm?

I believe that the fittings are different so probably not worth attempting.

Yes it comes with tone arm. But looks and feels flimsy and cheap.

Although it is the original supplied with turntable.

If original it should be fitted with the 9c carbon tonearm which is supposed to be quite good. It uses a Linn standard fitting which is different to the 25mm hole used for the Rega.

Hi, no its not the carbon model. I think that tone arm was added to the later RPM 6.5 but I could be wrong?

If it is a standard Linn cut out as you say, I could manufacture my own from MDF to fit the Rega RB300.

I did do this many years ago when I added a Rega tone arm to a Ariston RD40 which came with a Linn Basik tone arm at the time. Mid to late 1980's

I will have to give the Pro-ject RPM6 a further coat of looking at me thinks?
