Tidal stutters on phone trying to play highest quality

New phone when trying to play highest quality from til 24 bit and 96khz or higher it stutter and is unplayable

Can i do something when i want to play max quality and not high ?

Is that a limit of the 5G network at that time? I notice you're not connected to your domestic Wi-Fi network.

If you are listening on your phone then high res is pointless, as your phone speakers are not good enough to hear the difference.,(Apart from placebo) so just use a lower setting.

It remains a problem nonetheless. From my experience using Tidal Connect is not perfect either.

Shouldn't be a network limit

Max goes from what ever max is from 16 bit 44.1khz to 24 bit and 192khz

Old phone is rated at 24 bit and 192khz

You didn't mention anything else which would also have bearing on what is causing the stuttering, so without the full information we can only go with the information you gave.

Try dismantling the apps working in the background 🙂

USB C can do both data and charging but sometimes it sold as a charger and may have the data terminals disconnected - do check before purchasing.

They normally tell you on the advert if it's just a charger.
IF it does both, it will say in the description - see below




If it's only charging USB C cable, it will also say in the description - see below

Fiio just say Type-C charging nothing else, it's like they expect people to use mini jack for music and usb for charging a phone + who does both at the same time

I don't need to charge my phone on the go and at home i have a fine hifi system i use for music

By headphones do you mean connected via Bluetooth? Bluetooth doesn't support hi-res music. You need headphones that you can connect to your phone via USB-C. I can see you're already looking at USB- C options which is the way to go.

In have an Ifi Go Link DAC and I use a splitter to connect this and a power cable/bank. From the image you can see one connector for power and one for the DAC.
