Using my old my DM601 S2 in the interim while I am deciding what speakers to get for my main system.
They sound damn good! This is the BW sound I was craving and searching in the CM8s, no where near tbh of what I am hearing now.
I wonder why that is, I mean the basic thing like stereo imaging is even far better on 601. They were designed and built differently and for the fraction of the price of these modern speakers. Only CM5s came closest to these with better clarity. Old is indeed gold!

You got used to the old sound and are looking for the same sound in new speakers, however this is not going to happen, as other speakers will sound different.
Stick with what you are using and don't bother looking for something new, as there is only a slim chance that you will find something you like. (That sounds like what you have already got)
Spend the money on something else, like content.

Speakers built when B&W cared about sound quality.
B&W these days is a life style company, sound quality is not a priority anymore.

The old 600 series was very good. I heard the 602 and 603s, they were wonderful for their price tag.
