A while ago in another thread I mentioned that my son had booked a concert in Brixton and I was worried about coming to London, well we have arrived at our digs in Brixton can I just say, Good grief the heat in the London underground I should have left my jacket back home and come in shirt sleeves. 🤣.
Gareth Emery tonight at the Brixton Academy and then we've got to get back to kingscross station tomorrow morning and of course there's strike action on the Tube. I hope I've read it right. Victoria line running but a limited service and won't go all the way to Kingscross . It's stopping at Euston?

Ah, just down the road from me 😎

If you're worried about the tube. you can get City Thameslink from Loughborough junction to St Pancras. It's about a 10 minute walk down Coldharbour lane from Brixton. *EDIT* scratch that, I just checked the planner & looks like that line isn't running tomorrow either. I'll have a look at the strike advice around Victoria line for you.

Hope you have a fun evening!

That's what I call unlucky.
It's almost as if they planned strike action to coincide with your visit 🤨

I hope your show makes up for the stress and hassle 👍
If TFL website is correct it will only be a mild inconvenience today for us. Tube will stop at Euston, so we'll have a 15 minute walk to Kingscross. I feel sorry for those who work in London and use the tube daily, looking like a complete shutdown except for the Elizabeth line to Heathrow.
Any way the reason for my original post, boy the heat in the underground 🤣. No wonder there were signs on the way down into Kingscross underground station, to make sure you stay hydrated in hot weather. It must be like an oven down there when it's hot weather outside.

Well after all that, Victoria line was running, fine although about two stops before Kingscross the announcement changed from "Victoria Line Service to Walthamstow" to "Victoria line service to seven sisters". So terminating a few stops earlier. I know I've only had limited experience of the tube (two trips on the same service) but what a way to get about. Beats being stuck in nose to tail traffic. Even when we left the O2 academy last night at 23:30 the traffic was still nose to tail.

I think my ears have recovered from last night's concert. Like the idiot I am, I forgot my concert earplugs in my hotel room. Talk about ringing ears when I came out.🤣

London underground is great, never any long waits for trains (in non-strike times).

You thought it was warm - imagine what it was like when they used to use steam trains down there 🥵

Back in those days, they didn't complain.....they just died without fuss.
