Which kind of amp and speakers do you have in your HiFi setup?

Yes, if I do buy something now it will be a brand new Sony AN1000 av receiver.
Some people, used to AV amps, will stick with them. Personally I think they aren't much cop in a stereo system and you're paying for unnecessary facilities. Unless also using them in an AV set-up of course.
A good stereo amp driving suitable speakers that have been set up correctly should be better, perhaps you have simply become accustomed to what you had.

Did just see this Sony stereo receiver:

Still not sure how that will help unless you can do a home audition with one.
Yep, and I don’t like returning stuff even though I do it quite a bit. I suppose I don’t need many things and everything I have is really good, so it’s a though task to replace unless I spend a lot of money which I don’t have. I maxed out my credit card for 3 months to buy this amp and the Apple headphones which are a success - thank God. 🙂

Because that was an impulse buy I have to admit.

I am not sure to be honest and am going to take my time if I do anything. Thanks though. 👍

I might well be thinking to hook all my speakers back up to the Pioneer VSA-LX805 amp again and just mix how I listen to it. And forget to having a second amp, that makes sense.

To be honest it was my dad who said the Cambridge Audio was rubbish I was in 2 minds over it. And if he can’t put up with the noise of it downstairs I haven’t got much hope with it. So he said return it which happens a lot with my returns and cancellations.

That’s why I just spent a lot on headphones because my niece can’t put up with the noise either. They both think I’m deaf. 🙂

Just hooked it back up and have turned my sub down a lot and it does sound better with the sub now and it needs the sub in my view.

No, it doesnt sound good.

I have the Pioneer VSA-LX805 hooked up to the B&W FPM 6 speakers and the Pioneer VSX-LX70 hooked up to the B&W FPM 4 speakers. The Cambridge Audio CA81 MK2 is replacing the Pioneer VSX-LX70 to go with the B&W FPM 4 speakers.

Change speakers, here was me thinking my speakers were the business until I just asked AI and they reckon the B&W 606 S3 bookshelf speakers will sound better! They can’t do can they?
the 606 S3 were very good sounding, that i can tell you the FMP 4 don´t even are apealing to me maybe to watch a tv sitcom or any other type of show,

for music the 606 S3 or 604 S3 are amazing, currently i´m using some CDM7 from B&W. only AI ,i wouldn´t take it in consideration ,

maybe what you seek in sound isn´t what i think it´s better but for audio no doubt that are better , with some stands they do really sound very good,

using a regular amplifier not AV receivers, the CA 81 MK II only know the CXA81 mk II, it seems great but only for good sounding sources, i heard them but don´t own them ,only at a store from a friend , it seems a great combination, perfect stereo sound,

but has i said a personal preference and only for good sounding sources

I just remembered that in the 80´s had a AV receiver from Pioneer that was fine at the time at least for my living room , it had front and rear levels was huge and was capable of handling video and audio ,

i´m not sure but i think it was a VSX-9700S, that i looked for it on the internet, had power using some prologue towers pioneer made, and other set of KEF XQ one,

when kef was KEF, it had some salt and pepper dispensers on top saying it were hyper-tweeters 80.000hertz it is written on the box by the side, still have them ,

l had great sounding video concerts and videoclips from my favorite bands i ordered from GEMMA records in England, this using also Pioneer tv and stereo video(yet to be Philips, the best i ever saw in sound and image, VHS format).

Only everything went to the past, i don´t worry anymore with formats have a big LG smart tv with one year, and a old Pioneer dvd player with great reading quality ,

also have one from Sony that at the time was told to be the only dvd player with cd player sound quality, meaning high-quality sound not cheap cd player sound,

it´s stopped but it sounds good as a cd player,

before i had a Denver dvd player ,cost me new 30€, NEW,what a machine, it never stopped working , ofered it to some gypsies,

I was even invited to watch Porn in their house, 5 couples with ages inbetween 14 and 25, never went there
