hi all today i did a price match with jl bristol for a panny 42px80 £669.00 and a sony dvd recorder rdr-hxd870b £199.00 matched with s&v bolton. panny had 5 years warranty sony 2 years warranty both with free delivery i phoned at 10.40am by 11.25am i was rung back and asked when i wanted delivery.why cant all things in life be this stress free.

Funny that, I called up JL Solihull today and finally got my pricematch on a 37px80 after trying twice before and getting no word back from JL at all. Guess it all depends on who you deal with and which branch.

Totally unrelated but it reminds me of when I went to Wilco's near work to get a new manifold gasket fitted on my old car (reno19 16v) . They 1st wanted to charge me £100 and then decided that they couldn't do it. So I tried the Wilco's near home, 15 mins and £20 in the guys pocket and it was done. Just goes to show it all depends on who you get hold of.

I had same issues with JL on oxford street - took them a quite a while to come back on a £1030 price match with sound and vision bolton and they said they would do £1200 which seemed quite a random number - said no thanks... then tried JL at Brent Cross they came back about 48 hours later said fine at £1030 - so bought yesterday and incl's delivery which I get on Friday ! Absolutely agree depends who you get.

Btw, Sound & Vision have reduced the price of the 42" PX80 to £658.39!

JL sent me a letter which was received 13/5/08,confirming they would price maych S&V, so this took a total of 1 eek to get a response, which i am happy to say was a positive one.

we contacted john lewis on the 12th may over the phone to price match sound and vision on the pansonic 37px80 for £593.99 they even asked us for soud and visions tel no which we gave them, said they'd get back to us in 3-5 days, waiting to hear, not sure what takes so long to confirm that the store has a tv for that price.
