The maverick hifi show

Thought I'd hang my head around the door and post a few photos of my day at the maverick hifi show nearly a month ago 😂

I've been and still am too busy to be anything but a reader only at the minute hence being weeks delayed in posting these photos I thought may be of interest to some.

To be brief I managed to catch up with a member on here and hear his beautiful Leak stereo 20 which he'd restored amongst other things to pristine condition whilst there.

I haven't the time to do it justice with the few quick words I've got time to post suffice to say it was everything I thought it would be and more memory serving me right from hearing one as a kid it seems sometimes meeting your heros isn't a disappointment.

Absolutely a gorgeous sound even though the hotel room was an acoustic nightmare.

With a large hotel filled room to room with hifi to cover there's too much to comment on other than cherry pick the more memorable systems out and come back when I've got more time with more details for what it's worth 😁

Suffice to say the show wasn't what many may think and just full of hyper expensive stuff rather it was people's kit brought in from home, of course though there was a few of those very expensive systems about.


What would be a suprise to some perhaps not others is the age, type and price of the best sounding hifi there atleast to my ears and the majority of others I'd spoken with who seemed to be in agreement.

It certainly added a lot of hifi to the list of what I've heard and was a great day out

I like the mattresses used to improve the acoustics.
(Can't imagine too many partners accepting them in their living rooms 🤔).

The snag is there’s nowhere to put them, unless you’re strong enough to lift them out and cart them to a storage room.

As you say, they may seem handy for sound in an empty bedroom, but some exhibitors sleep in the room, so the mattress is needed later!
