Thanks for looking, I should revise my statement to "I cant find one for sensible money" :) A month a go these amps were selling for £599, at that price they were a steal but it looks like they are now all gone.

The whole 'lowest you can go' is that how you feel, would you say that it would be fair of me if I said that implied that you believed a post on a message boards holds weight with say a real life interaction, would you see it as a great insult if one of your posts were to be deleted? I wouldn't wish that on you, but you might want to edit your more abrasive posts above, I don't want you to get upset friend. :)

It is definetly becoming embarrasing to see such **hole treating such illness with such frivolity and who does not seem to have more arguments than repeating the same thing over and over again.

This is becomming boring "doc", do you have anything else to offer? If not please go bother elsewhere.

Seems like the retailers caught on that they were in demand and with stocks going low they've turned the screws.

Stoneaudio rarely compete on price to the level of the Richer Sounds, etc. You'll typically pay the full whack. They do drop prices but not often.

Nothing personal in it in, just a genuine attempt at reaching out to someone.

I've gotten good quotes form Stone Audio in the past via email, the fella could go down that route. Nothing to lose.

Nothing personal here either, just that it's better off elsewhere given the focus of the postings between you two.

Stoneaudio probably do, it seems like that kind of place. Carries a huge range of stock too.

Record Spot, since this thread is coming back, unfortunately for wrong reasons, I would like to take the opportunity to share something:

Just by coincidence during summer time I had to take a trip to Bilbao and went to this hi-fi shop. They had the Onkyo on sale so, I asked the guys for a short demo but, they could not manage. Then, the guy offered me to take it home and test with all cost on their behalf. I had absolutely no intention to purchase another AVR but, how could I resist the temptation to play around with it for 1 week and come back to tell you what a piece of junk it was (just kidding)?

Anyway, making a long story short, after living with it for 1 week I decided to keep it. I had come to dislike my Yamaha so much that I believe it was an easy choice. I still do not believe that it completely fills the gap of AVRs in terms of musicality but, that is subject for another debate. I may start a new post to share my experience and discuss about some of the settings.

Is this the final musical AVR that we have been waiting for the past 15 years? No, but I agree that it is “less bad” than the majority out there (at least the ones I have tried). So afterall I have to admit that our stupid argument ended up in some unexpected way to my surprise and I ended up being an owner of a 818 myself.
