Well the Tellurium Q black arrived this morning.First let me pick my jaw up from the floor!Yes thats how good this cable is.Ok from the box the Q black seems look ordinary, thin and lightweight compare to my epic supertwin which is thick and weighs a ton.Plugged in straight to my system and played Acoustic Alchemy cd,Oh my..Oh my..Am I just dreaming...?First noticeable improvement is the very detailed, clean and very open presentation of each and every tracks I played. There's a lot of space between instrument and very precise in every note.Every strum of the guitar sound sublime.Next is Eva Cassidy's songbird cd,Eva's voice just floats in the air as if she was there singing in front of me and no harshness or edgyness at all.Next is Metallica's cd playing Nothing Else Matters,Wow!Don't need a ticket to watch them live. The bass is so tight as if I was struck by a sledge hammer! And to all other tracks i played the cymbals just shimmer from nowhere. I can hear every tiny detail in most of my cd collection without being bright or harsh. This is the quality of sound I was looking for since I built my first system. It's like adding xps to my cdx2 which sound more analog and tamed the bit forwardness without sacrificing the detail.IMHO the Tellurium black lift my naim set up to the next upper level and now the ATC scm40s sounds at their best. This is the best upgrade I've had EVER!{not run-in yet..):bounce:

Iceman, I have 40's as well & am getting a shot of some TQ Black tomorrow. Did you get 2 sets of the links as well ?

Yes mate,2 sets of links. Each pair are still joined together unlike other biwire links. The z plugs are a perfect fit for the 40s.I'm very confident that you'll be amazed:cheer:

Sorry mate I've not tried the Blue,Green and Ultra black, only the black which is I'll definitely keep.If you can save a bit more go for the black. It will take your system to the next upper level IMHO. It's really a shame Tellurium is not well known in this site. For me chord epic is better than Naca5,and the tellurium black is a lot better than the epic.Cheers!

Iceman,

That's right.

My dealer suggested I keep using these rather than change the links to Tellurium Q Black links.

A possible change of links could be to change the Chord Signature links to Tellurium Q Ultra Black links.

Triggy,

Well if you're happy with the signature links I don't see any reason to replace them for Q black. But in my case I bought the speaker cable and 2 sets of links(tri-wire binding post)at a great discount.:) .When I was using the epic supertwin I just bought some bare wire odyssey links which has exactly the same conductor as the epic without the shielding, just to balance the current.

So, a 9 metre pair of new Tellerium Q Black speaker cables would cost me about £800? That's a lot more than what I paid for the speakers I'd be using them on. Tail wagging the dog.

Nice to hear you are enjoying your system.

But each to their own. glad you happy

The OP didn't need a 9 m pair, but a 2 M pair, and in the context of his speakers, gave him a worthwhile improvement.......nobody is suggesting that it makes sense to spend more on S/C, than speakers.

TB, there is nothing "wrong" with NACA5, in the same way as with many other brands......this doesn't mean, that something else might not improve on it. I happen to think TQ lives up to the hype and is worth checking out, if in the market for some cable.

A 2 metre pair of Tellerium Q Black would cost about £140. For the OP, is his Michell Gyro placed on a brick wall mounted wallshelf or is it on a floor mounted rack / support / table? If it's on a floor mounted support then his turntable would benefit from being placed much further away from his speakers or from being placed on a wallshelf.

Hi TB,

There is nothing wrong with Naca5, It's just the Tellurium black works better in my system. I'm a big fan of Naim but If I can improve my system(to my ears) even not using the same brand I will go for it within my budget.Cheers!

The Michell gyro se is placed on the top shelf of sound organisation rack.I replaced the thin glass shelf with a thick(2cm)acrylic with 4 sorbothane feet and put 4 sound dead steel isofeet on each of the tt feet including the motor.Cheers!

Only just picked up on this one . . . I did a comparison recently, Linn K20, Tellurim Blue and Black. dont wast your money on the Blue, its slow and vailed IMHO.

The Black is excelent, however, my Linn K20 was so close, matching it almost blow for blow, I use the word 'almost' . . . The Black has just a tade more openes perhaps, but the K20 is warmer, having a round, open presentation that I like, very analogue . . . but the Black does fall down at the base end the K20 is markedley fuller here.

Its when one compares cost it all pops into focus. Tellurim Blue @ £16.50 pm, Black @ £46 pm and the Linn K20 @ £5 (yes five) pm. Scores out of 10 . . . Blue 3, Black 10 , Linn K20 9.5. Value for money is Linn K20.

This is IMHO and relevent only in my system . . .

Hi all.

I made the mistake of taking a home demo of the Tellurium black speaker cable. WOW :O

This is the most surprising and impressive speaker cable I've heard. I was looking for something to replace my Chord comany silversceen as the thickness of the chord is making the re-jigged room a bit of a pain. I read the reviews and took a punt. The dealer allowed me 4 weeks testing at ome and if I wasn't happy a full refund was sat waiting.

They simply blew my chord's away. Was just like someone had removed a haze or curtain from the music. Better right across the board. Bass, midrange and treble all sweeter more detailed and smoother.

Well worth the price. Just give them a try.

keep on rocking :rockout:

Glad you liked them.

Generally speaking, I've found that a meaningful opinion can only be formed after listening to something.

For a few days I had a terrible time with my Tellurium Q Blacks, as they at first sounded just terrible - like having a metallic sheen over everything. But suddenly a few days later (leaving the amp on 24/7 helped!), the clouds lifted and I heard the beautiful silky pure sound they are famous for (I didn't change a thing). But as my KEF LS50's are so bright and my amp and cd player a bit agricultural, I am upgrading to the Q Greens which I have been told are a little more forgiving than the Blacks - but with even more musical ability. I am also adding Black interconnect RCA audio cables. Tellurium support has been very helpful.

These cables really do need time to become themselves / "disappear" and "revealing". I am surprised when people report an immediate miracle with the Q's. It wasn't so with me. When my Greens arrive I am going to be more patient this time - I have heard they take even longer than the Blacks to behave (smile)!

Given my budget restraints and present and future hardware (probably the Rega Brio-R and Apollo-R combo), going higher up the Tellurium quality/cost hierarchy than the Greens is not in my plans at all, but those with very expensive systems IMHO should seriously consider the Ultra-Black and beyond.

Hi all I have just picked up a 5 meter loan pair of telluriam q black speaker cables which Ive swapped my old mission solid core cables for and as soon as I fired up my system and I am sitting on the right hand side of my left speaker the massive sound stage just exploded into the room I wasn't expecting to here much of a change as I was of the opinion that a speaker cable wouldn't have such a big effect I have had the mission cable for 15/20 years and never gave a thought to changing them I do follow people on this forum who post there finding and there posts have inspired me to give the tulluriams a try and I am glad that I did I will have a couple of weeks to make my mind up.I would like to thank every one who has posted about these cables  Guys

The Q black in first sound metalic but they aren't , they completely natural and neutral and present the music as it sould be without any artificial coloration . you have to get use to it .
