Hi BigH

Yes , the TQ blackes revealed thatmy Mission MX5 wasn't good speakers the lack of details was obivious and tha bass was "boomy" so I changed it to the Proac Studio 140MK2 - the improvement was huge. Also I discovered that the Roksan Kandy K2 is not transparent enough, sometimes details tend to be lost and the soundstage isn't stable . I will probably changed it to the pre/power Rotel 1580+1582 I didn't make a decission yet .

You might like to consider Densen and Bel Canto amps as well.

I see. I thought that about the Roksan K2 as well, not considering the Caspian?

Well I will let my ears decide thanks...

The point being that they aren't the only factor. Your eyes and your knowledge of the price of a component play a much bigger role.

Are you a psychologist? Either way, thanks so much for your insight into my listening and buying habits.

You're more than welcome.

A whole week off work, patch on the eye and banned from using iPads, computers etc.

Managed to survive by listening with eyes closed to a pile of CDs and just today risked lining up the vinyl.

What a great opportunity to try out the new Tellurium Q Blacks that arrived just before the op.

All I can say is to endorse the other users, and remark what's difference they have made to my set up and the sound.

In two words "more musical". Edge taken off the top end, instruments better defined, but in a lovely rounded way, making listening for long spells really easy and thoroughly enjoyable.

I would have said that someone had changed my speakers for the next ones up - so the new TQ Blacks have been a very economical upgrade.

DC, welcome to the dark side.

(It's good to know that my mojo is obviously still strong!)

Interestingly, the vocals seem to be recorded in a more spacious room - I am hearing that big space echo after especially female vocals that makes my own room seem much bigger.

Really enjoying the new sound.

Glad you liked the TQs

They do improve the sound : the bass is more sharp, more details , more air between instruments and vocals are clearer
