when you combine it with a sub...is dc4 getting closer to the dc6 performance or are the differences in the mid and high frequency proccessing still in favour of the dc6?

i haven't got the possibility to audition these 2 as well as most other speakers and would appreciate any opinion that would help decide between the dc4 and 6 bookshelfs

the differnce in cost is ~ 350 euros and i allready own a sub. thx in advance

My advice FWIW is to go for the larger driver every time..in this case the DC6. They offer a much more rounded and balanced sound...

I have the Rev Sig DC4s in my Home CInema setup. Cracking performers they are too. Loads and loads of detail. Having said that, if you have the budget for it, go for the DC6s instead, you'll just get even more of the same quality! From what I've heard from others, you get a bigger sound stage, even more detail, etc.

I don't think the 6s versus the 4s will mean you don't need a sub. The sub will only give you the low frequency stuff, not more detail, scale, etc. You may want the sub with the 6s as well if that's the sound you like.

i used to own cambridge soundworks sattelites and i was very pleased with them till they got burnt by current fluctuations and not having any power protection plug. i allready spent some on a sony 2400es amp and a sub (+belkin power protection 🙂 ...my budget is quite limited and so is my space,,,, i'll go for the dc4s ... thank you both for your answers

Budget and space are major considerations. Lets face it, if we all had loadsamoney and a mansion I'm sure we could all find something to buy.

I'm sure you will be happy with the 4's. Good luck and maybe you would like to reply with your findings.

not experienced in hifi world and neither interested in being 🙂 i just like to listen to my music uncolored by the source, so with that in mind and in general the performance of the dc4 is completely satisfying....treble,bass etc is a matter of taste and adjustuble (+ subwoofer better). very nice clarity & sound as a stereo speaker
