I've decided that a simple bit of mix & matching might help me achieve a decent home cinema system that's capable of making music sound as fresh and dynamic as it really should. So we'll start with the Denon 1909.

Now instead of getting the Wharfdale Diamond 9 HCP for about £399. I thought I'd create my own Diamond pack. Swapping the front speakers (the 9.0) for the 9.1 which What Hi Fi continually rave about.  That way I get a decent home cinema system and a decent pair of front speakers for the music.  As a package this works out to about £486.

Alternatively, I was going to build a package around the award winning Tannoy Mercury F1 speakers.  Combined with the SFX Subwoofer and the Mercury centre speaker and rears. Package of about £387.

Any thoughts or whether these packages will work together and whether I'm certain to hear an improvement in sound, especially music.

Thanks
