switching to Bluray

I've decided to switch to Bluray.

From what i can see at this point in time the PS3 is the sensible way to go but....

The xbox 360 is so noisy.

Does the PS3 have the same issue or is it no different to a dedicated bluray player from a noise viewpoint?

I am running a samsung 50" plasma, yamaha rxv-1700, anthony gallo micros (7.1)

It's nowhere near as noisy as the 360 and certainly not enough to be heard over a movie soundtrack.

how does it compare with the toshiba HD DVD player for noise

I'm just about to return my HD-EP30 due to lock up problems and that has helped the decision on switching.

I never really noticed any noise from the EP35 that I have so it is louder than that but not as loud as the 360.

Congratulations !, i've just done the same, bought a PS3, bought some blu-ray discs, a PS3 game and absolutely lovin it.

Yes there is some noise from the PS3, but not enought to distract your enjoyment of the films.

This is one bit of cool kit !
