Hi folks

I have a Denon 1707 surround amp. Fairly please with the surround performance but it seems a bit confused with CDs. I have recently added a Sony 370 Blu Ray player and this energised things somewhat.

However its not a very convincing soundstage and their is a lack of seperation. Its all a bit confused.

Would a mini like the Denon 38 give me a better sound or am I kidding myself and actually need to spend some serious money?

They are feeding Tannoy Revolution R1 bookshelf speakers (would be willing to look at replacing these if it made a significant difference).

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I had the DM38's predecessor the DM37 running Tannoy Mercury F1 Customs (now replaced by the V1's) and what a cracking little system that was (and still is as sold it to my house mate).

If music is you priority ditch what you have and maybe consider this as a starting point.
