Stylus Groove Tracking

Help! There seems to be one part of my record which sinks the stylus so that it plays the same groove over and over again, basically a fraction of a second on repeat. I am dead certain it is a record issue, but how best to fix it?

Some of your options:
1. Clean the record, if you don't have a record cleaner have someone (preferably the person who sold you the record) clean it for you. It might be dust or dirt caught in the groove

2. If that did not help, see if increasing the tracking weight helps the cartridge to track the groove.

3. If even with a higher weight the record can't be played, have it replaced by one that does play.

Note the position where it skips and take a closer look at the record with a magnifying glass as it could be a small scratch causing the skip.
