Still waiting RXV1900

I just bought a RXV1900 a few days ago from the the home cinema center had them in stock maybe i was just lucky did ask for the 863 first off but was out of stock and could been a few weeks waiting so went for the 1900 as they had it in the shop.

Home Cinema Centre have it on sale @ £999, exceptional av are asking for £780. Remarkable price difference. Superfi are in the middle at £880 but they have no stock either.

I ordered a v1900 from exception-av recently but they had no stock; they also tried to sell me a Onkyo 876.

I think tomving has the added complication that he is in Austria, so he needed a dealer who will ship internationally. He also paid various bank transfer charges, etc to purchase the RX-V1900 and would no doubt need to pay more to get his money refunded as he paid by money transfer, not credit card.

Hi tomving, I am new to the What Hi-Fi forums and do not usually get involved apart from reading the issues. In this instance however I have decided to post a comment because like you I have been fobbed off by either Yamaha or Exceptional AV who quoted me a 6 week delivery time on my RX-V1900 when I ordered it early Feb 09.

I am tempted to cancel my order but at £780 agreed price with Exc AV I am not sure that I will get an equivilent amp at this price.

I am not happy though with either Yamaha or exceptional AV so my advice to anyone considering a yamy product is check stock with supplier before placing order.

I do not know whether what hi fi are aware of the issues.

Im also on the Exceptional AV waiting list,I order an 863 on the first day of Feb,I'll post when it arrives or I get more info from Exc AV..

Last information from AV-exc. (last days of April) was that my 1900 is coming 2nd week of May. That means next week. I live in hope these days and my speakers become impatient, they want to brawl.....

Having spoken to the Yamaha rep yesterday, he said 3900's aren't due until towards the end of the month, but couldn't give any delivery dates, even anything rough, for the 1900's. I think the phrase was "as and when"....
