i prefer it brings girls to the yard 😇Maybe your CD brings all the boys to the yard?
It depends on whether your streamer supports lossless audio and it is switched on in the app and player. My CD sounds much better than any stream ive tried Apple and Spotify it sounds like its congested restricted got a cold .maybe its my set up ? its convenient thats all.
Iam not a big streamer and had only ever used basic Spotify not for serious listening ,i then tried Apple Music with a free trial that sounded much better. It depends on whether your streamer supports lossless audio and it is switched on in the app and player.
(Congested normally means you are playing the lossy format or there is something seriously wrong)

Ah, the basic service has limited quality so I'm not surprised it sounded poor.Iam not a big streamer and had only ever used basic Spotify
Just to clarify. How is the CD connected to your amp?More recently i have been using my CD60 DAC to play CDS rather than the RCA on the CD 60 this is when i noticed a big improvement in the sound.
It’s connected via optical now I prefer this to the RCA connection .only recently changed it to optical .i thought the CD dad would have been the better one .Ah, the basic service has limited quality so I'm not surprised it sounded poor.

If connected via RCA then you would be using the CD players DAC.
If connected via digital (optical/coaxial/HDMI) then it would use the amps DAC.

Trouble is that every streaming company, music and video, are pushing up prices. I for one am looking at my "portfolio" and deciding which my household really get value from.If you take option 2, expect further increases
The knock on effect, other providers will increase their prices too.Very clear cut, binary choice for subscribers:
1) Vote with your feet.
2) Pay up and shut up.
If you take option 2, expect further increases 👍
Not a problem I'm ever going to encounter. The knock on effect, other providers will increase their prices too.
It's a vicious loop.
What, never? Not a problem I'm ever going to encounter.
They say "never say never".
But I say it quite a bit and when I say never, I mean never.
My issue is that my wife and kids are very much "in" the Spotify ecosystem now - sharing playlists with friends etc. and it works well for them.Trouble is that every streaming company, music and video, are pushing up prices. I for one am looking at my "portfolio" and deciding which my household really get value from.
Same boat. I'm funding other people's accounts. It is quite hard to say, "Tough luck! You're on your own, or we switch".My issue is that my wife and kids are very much "in" the Spotify ecosystem now

Correct, but it's still much cheaper to have a subscription to one or more streaming services than buying music on physical media. Before streaming I spent 50...80 euro/per month on CD's (only for myself, additional cost for wife+kids). Now paying ~35 euro for Spotify Family (for the family in and the car) and Tidal for hi-quality listening at home.Trouble is that every streaming company, music and video, are pushing up prices.
