Splitting iTunes library

Is it possible within iTunes to have music in one location (netbook harddrive) and TV shows/film in another location (external USB harddrive) ?

If so, how is it accomplished ?

You need to uncheck the option to have iTunes manage folders and copy everything to the library in the settings pane. This way, when you add items from your external drive, they will not copy to your library.
