Going to pull the trigger on some speakers this week!

Quick question directed mainly to the whathifi review team but also to anyone who has heard both. For no other consideration than sound quality, which is better:

1. Audioengine A5+

2. Ruark Audio MR1

Speakers are very room dependent and sound obviously a ver personal thing. You are going to have to try to listen to both yourself.

Yeah, thank you, good point.

I'd still be interested in a comparison and I can't find anywhere to listen to both. The Ruark has more features (blutooth, etc.) than the audioengine and a smaller enclosure but I was wondering if the Audioengines had more classic hifi virtues given their relative simplicity and larger size. I will be using one of them as a genuine hifi replacement, hopefully with a HRT microstreamer at some point. They will sit in a smallish room but I'd like them to fill that room.

Ultimately I'm willing to trade most things for fluidity and detail.
